In preparation of National Pollinator Week, June 18-24, 2012, Howell Woods Environmental Learning Center and Johnston County Cooperative Extension Service will host a day of fun and educational activities for the whole family. Events include tours of pollinator gardens, "Create Your Own Bee" craft, the Great Sunflower Project-including planting your own sunflower in an environmentally friendly container, building your own native bee nesting bundles, bee story time, "What is Pollination" movie, visiting with vendors and beekeepers and viewing honeybee observation hives.
Bring a picnic lunch, see the live animal exhibits, explore the nature trails and experience the beauty and awe of Howell Woods.
Please wear the appropriate outdoor clothing and bring any additional gear that will make your outdoor experience more pleasant.
